Switss® M.2 SSD enclosure
Turn your own M.2 SSD into lightning-fast external storage, whichever type you have.
Switss® M.2 SSD enclosure
USB-C 10 Gbps, NVMe & SATA, always cool.
NVMe or SATA: one enclosure recognises and uses both, without screws or drivers.
NVMe or SATA, M-key or B&M-key, the Switss® enclosure recognises both. You place your SSD without screws, connect via USB-C and you have fast external storage right away. No drivers, no hassle.
This speed comes from USB-C 3.2 Gen 2, up to 10 Gbps, double the older USB 3.0 (5 Gbps). With an NVMe SSD you reach up to 1050 MB per second reading and 1000 MB per second writing.
Note: SSD not included. Your own M.2 SSD clicks right in.
Windows, macOS and Linux, no drivers
The enclosure works straight away on Windows, macOS and Linux, no driver or software installation needed. Connect via USB-C and your SSD appears right away as an external drive.
With a fast NVMe SSD you reach up to 1050 MB per second reading via USB-C 3.2 Gen 2. A regular external hard drive reaches about 130 MB per second. Measured with an NVMe SSD; actual speed depends on your own drive.
With an NVMe SSD you write up to 1000 MB per second via USB-C 3.2 Gen 2. A 20 GB file, such as a 4K video, is transferred in about 20 seconds. Measured with an NVMe SSD; a SATA SSD takes longer.
Ready to go instantly. One USB-C cable and your SSD is a fast external drive. No software or settings.
Aluminium heatsink. The fins and thermal pad dissipate heat, so your SSD stays at full speed, even with large files.
2-in-1: NVMe and SATA. Works with both NVMe (PCIe) and SATA (NGFF) M.2 SSDs. One enclosure for both.
Compact and sturdy. The aluminium housing fits in any jacket pocket and protects your SSD on the move.
Mac, Windows & more. Works on Windows, macOS and Linux. Plug and play, no drivers to install.
Fits almost every M.2 SSD: NVMe or SATA, up to 2 TB.
Works with both NVMe (PCIe) and SATA (NGFF) M.2 SSDs in sizes 2230, 2242, 2260 and 2280, up to 2 TB. Tested with popular SSDs such as Crucial P3, Samsung 860 EVO, Kingston A2000 and Intel 660P.
SSDs slow down when they heat up. The aluminium enclosure with thermal pad keeps your SSD cool, at full speed.
SSDs heat up when they work hard and then automatically slow down. The aluminium enclosure with included thermal pad dissipates that heat, so your SSD stays at full speed during extended use, and lasts longer.
With an NVMe SSD you get the highest speed. A SATA SSD works just as easily, at a slightly lower speed.
With an NVMe SSD you reach up to 1050 MB/s read and 1000 MB/s write via USB-C 3.2 Gen 2 (10 Gbps). SATA M.2 SSDs reach up to about 500 MB/s, both fit in the same enclosure.
Work smoothly with 4K footage and large RAW libraries, on the go or at your desk. A 20 GB 4K video is transferred in about 20 seconds.
Not enough storage? Put your photos, projects and backups on a fast external SSD instead of in the cloud.
Put your media library on the PS5 or Xbox, or games and media on the PlayStation 4.
Got a spare M.2 SSD after an upgrade? Give it a second life as a fast external drive.

NVMe (PCIe) is the faster technology and reaches up to 1050 MB/s in this enclosure. SATA (NGFF) is older and reaches up to about 500 MB/s. Both fit in the same Switss® enclosure.
Sizes 2230, 2242, 2260 and 2280, up to 2 TB. The enclosure does not fit 2.5-inch SSDs or hard drives.
On Windows, macOS and Linux, plug and play, no drivers. You prepare a new or empty SSD once via Disk Management (Windows) or Disk Utility (macOS).
On the PlayStation 4, the enclosure works for both games and media. On the PlayStation 5 and Xbox only for media such as films and music, not for installing games. And yes: also on an iPhone 15 or newer (USB-C) and on Android phones and tablets with USB-C.
No, the enclosure is supplied without an SSD. You fit your own M.2 NVMe or SATA SSD; it clicks into place without screws.

No communication whatsoever. Zero. I hate that doing business with zombies.
Was just on sale so nice price and I was surprised by the quality, also comes with usb c cable plus plug for on a larger usb, has good cooling and feels sturdy. To my surprise also really 1000 meg/second, so am happy with this purchase
Nice looking box. Limited capacity (2TB) Internal mounting of the SSD is rubbish (apparently cheaper than a screw) Manual can be offered in a more convenient way. Works with 2TB SSD
Excellent ssd enclosure. Kompact, easy to use, fast
Bought M.2 ssd enclosure for my ssd-card. Neatly delvered on the agreed day and what is even more important: does exactly what was promised, top!
Fast delivery , and it is a good and solid device, which is easy to use
Fast delievry, neatly packed, works perfectly. Only the plastic plug to secure the NvMe with that's a bit harder to place
Replaced my nvme from Samsung. With the old one nothing was wrong to it was only 512GB, after replacement for a 2TB model I had no use for that smaller one. With this enclosure I suddenly have a really big, hella fast usb drive added. Windows to go on it and you always have your own pc with you.
The device does not work. The light blinks once when plugging it in, but nothing happens. I am going to return it.
The SWITSS enclosure model SW-M2-01 is an M.2 SSD enclosure compatible with the NVMe PCI-E and SATA NGFF standards.Furthermore it uses a USB 3.2 Gen 2 interface which allows it to reach speeds on the order of 10 GB/s.In other words this enclosure is optimized for the ultra fast transmission of large data volumes such as video files, photos, backups..How to explain this optimization ?The enclosure is manufactured in a high quality aluminum and it also includes a heat sink (see photos). The whole ensures an efficient heat dissipation, including during an intensive use of the enclosure. What are the advantages of this enclosure ?They are as follows :- The enclosure does not require any driver to work ; in other words it is « plug and play » and compatible with computers running on Windows, on Mac Os or on Linux, and with gaming consoles.- It offers a great compatibility with storage memories, notably with the 2230, 2242, 2260 and 2280 formats. In order to ensure a good functioning stability of the mass memory, one has two rubber « plugs » which are easily insertable on the enclosure (see photos). The mass memory will thus be correctly inserted in the contactors of the enclosure. One will also have a compatibility with SSD mass memories in the M-Key and M&B-Key formats.- The enclosure is capable of managing mass memories with a maximum capacity of 2 TB (Tera bytes).- It is very easy to open the enclosure without any tool (see photo). The enclosure comes with a paper manual and a USB C male / USB C doubled with a USB A 3.0 male cable. In summaryThe compact and efficient enclosure is optimized to reach stable and reliable performances.
And it's no small thing. The good thing about NVMEs is that they are brutally fast if you connect them to a compatible motherboard (also, when the winds blow in your favor, they can become really cheap), but the bad thing is that obligation of having to be tinkering around in the motherboard every time you want to use one.Having one of these little boxes solves the hassle of having to open the computer to access the content of an NVME SSD, or depending on the case, being able to have a very fast hard drive reducing the cost of other "all-in-one" solutions.Getting down to work, I took advantage of having some NVME hard drives around the house to see how well this little box works... and the thing is it works very well. It is a single aluminum block that acts as a heatsink, and an ingenious mechanism allows you to release the plastic core where the USB connector, the controller and the port to place your hard drive go. The installation is simple and requires no tools thanks to a couple of small rubber plugs that secure the SSD drive in place and can be removed and put on by hand. The package also includes the little instruction booklet in several languages (also Spanish), a USB-C to USB-C/A cable (with adapter), a thermal pad to improve heat transmission between the hard drive chips and the aluminum casing and a second spare rubber plug.In the performance tests, I achieved around a very respectable 900MB/s read and write on a USB 3.2 port... which for me is enough to work smoothly. Only half of what I normally get connecting this same drive directly to the NVME port on the board. So the first impressions are good. I would indeed make sure to place the thermal silicone if I were going to make intensive use of the SSD to avoid scares, but that isn't my need right now either. For the rest, more than recommended purchase!
