Buying from Switss for Business: VAT Invoice, Warranty and Delivery Time for Freelancers

Buying from Switss for Business: VAT Invoice, Warranty and Delivery Time for Freelancers

This isn't the first time you're buying something for business, and you know what you need before trusting a new supplier: an invoice with VAT specification, warranty terms that also apply to business orders, and a delivery time you can plan a client workplace around. This article sets out those three things for Switss, so you don't have to look them up for every order.

VAT invoice: what you get with a business order

With every order at Switss you automatically get an invoice with VAT specification: no separate business account needed, no quote process for a regular order. The company details you need for that are listed below for you to check directly.

Company details of PELKONIC V.O.F. for your bookkeeping

Switss is a brand of PELKONIC V.O.F.:

  • Trade name: PELKONIC V.O.F.
  • Address: Insulindeweg 10, 1462 MJ Middenbeemster
  • KvK (Chamber of Commerce) number: 76439534
  • VAT number: NL860623646B01

These details are also listed on the Contact information page of Switss, so if in doubt you can always look them up yourself.

Volume discount: cheaper from 2 and from 10 units

For example, if you order multiple units of the Switss® 8 in 1 USB-C Hub or the Switss® 12 in 1 USB-C Hub for several workplaces at once, you automatically pay less: 5% discount from 2 units, 10% from 10 units of the same product. You don't need to enter any code: the discount is applied automatically in the shopping cart. This volume discount is never combined with a combi discount (for example a hub together with another Switss enclosure in a fixed set); if both apply at the same time, the higher of the two counts.

If you want to know exactly what that saves per unit at 2, 5 or 10 units, that worked example is set out in USB-C Hubs and Docks for Multiple Workplaces: A Buying Guide for Freelancers and IT Managers.

Warranty: 2-year manufacturer's warranty, also on business orders

A 2-year manufacturer's warranty applies to all Switss products: there is no different regime for a business order than for a consumer purchase.

How a warranty claim works

If there's a defect, you get in touch with your order number, a description and photos of the problem. Switss assesses whether the claim is valid; if so, repair, replacement or refund follows. Warranty claims are processed within 7 working days of receiving the returned item, and shipping costs are fully reimbursed once the claim is approved. Source: Shipping policy.

Right of return: 30 days' cooling-off period

Separate from the warranty, a 30-day cooling-off period applies from receipt: you can return an order if you're not happy with it, provided the item comes back in its original condition and packaging. Unlike an approved warranty claim, return shipping costs for a "change of mind" return are at your own expense. For comparison: the statutory EU cooling-off period for consumers is 14 days; Switss's 30 days is the more generous practice on top of that. Source: Refund policy.

Assumption, explicitly noted as background: Switss's policy texts themselves make no distinction between consumer and business orders: they always refer to "customer". The statutory 14-day right of withdrawal is fundamentally a consumer right and doesn't automatically apply to B2B purchases. Whether Switss also applies its 30-day policy to business orders without distinction isn't stated separately; treat this as background knowledge, not as a separate, confirmed business commitment.

Delivery time: what to expect after ordering

All orders are processed and shipped within 2 working days (Monday to Friday, excluding public holidays). After that: delivery within the Benelux takes 1-2 working days, and 5-7 working days for the rest of the European Union. If you have a question in the meantime, the Dutch customer service team responds within 24 hours. Source: Shipping policy.

Is Switss professional enough for repeat purchases?

An honest answer to a real purchase concern about a still relatively unknown brand. What's confirmed: a fixed Dutch business address (Middenbeemster), a KvK and VAT number you can look up yourself, and a Dutch customer service team that responds within 24 hours. What isn't confirmed: Switss is not (yet) affiliated with a certification scheme such as Thuiswinkel Waarborg. So we're not claiming that here.

Note: it's the entity behind Switss (PELKONIC V.O.F.) that is Dutch, as shown by the KvK and VAT number and the address. That says nothing about where the products themselves come from.

Why you won't find KVM switches here

KVM switches are indeed a product that freelancers and IT managers search for, but they belong to the Pelkon brand line, not Switss. We deliberately keep those two brands separate. This article is therefore not about KVM switches, and doesn't link to them either.

Frequently asked questions

Do I automatically get an invoice with VAT specification when I order for business at Switss?
Yes, automatically with every order, without a separate business account or quote process.

From how many units do I get a discount on a business order?
5% from 2 units, 10% from 10 units of the same product, applied automatically at checkout. A full worked example is in USB-C Hubs and Docks for Multiple Workplaces: A Buying Guide for Freelancers and IT Managers.

Does Switss's warranty also apply to business use?
Yes, the 2-year manufacturer's warranty applies to the product, regardless of consumer or business use. The process (getting in touch, claim processed within 7 working days) is the same. There is no separate business warranty regime.

How long does it take before my business order arrives?
2 working days of processing, then 1-2 working days of delivery within the Benelux or 5-7 working days within the rest of the EU.

Can I also order KVM switches at Switss for multiple workplaces?
No. KVM switches belong to the Pelkon brand line, not Switss.

Is Switss affiliated with a certification scheme such as Thuiswinkel Waarborg?
Not yet. What is confirmed: a registered KvK and VAT number and a fixed Dutch business address, both of which you can look up yourself via the contact information.

Next step

If you already know which hub you need, you can quickly work out what the volume discount saves you on multiple units:

If you still need to work out which model suits which workplace, 5-in-1 vs 8-in-1 vs 12-in-1: which Switss USB-C hub fits you? sets that out, and if you'd rather compare the difference between a hub and a docking station first, USB-C hub vs docking station: what's the difference and what do you need? covers that. If you need to know the right charging power for multiple client laptops at once, that's set out in Charging a laptop through a USB-C hub: how many watts (Power Delivery) do you need?

And if you'd like to see the full business buying guide for multiple workplaces first, including the volume discount worked example: you'll find it in USB-C Hubs and Docks for Multiple Workplaces: A Buying Guide for Freelancers and IT Managers.
