Switss® is a Dutch brand for storage and connectivity for laptops and desktops. Two brothers run the brand: Matthijs and Luca van Tuijl. We choose the products, write the guides and answer your questions ourselves.
Our story
We did not start with a brand, but with a web shop and a lot of curiosity. Every step taught us something about what people really need. This is how Switss® grew from that.
In November 2019 we open our web shop. The very first product we sell, early 2020, has nothing to do with computers: a blackhead remover. Mostly it teaches us how selling, shipping and customer questions work.
Because of corona, half the Netherlands suddenly works from home, often with a work laptop and a personal computer on the same desk. A KVM switch solves that: one keyboard, mouse and screen for two computers. Hardly anyone sells them on Bol.com at the time. We do, and demand is high.
With what we have learned, we start our own brand. The name comes from switching: one button takes you from one workspace to another, like our first KVM switch. That switch disappoints us in quality, so we take it off the market. Better no product than one we do not stand behind.
We broaden the idea behind the name, easy switching and connecting. That same year we launch the M.2 enclosure and enclosures for 2.5 and 3.5 inch drives: the first real Switss products.
Next come USB-C hubs, for laptops with too few ports. We sell in France for the first time and start on Amazon.
We open our own web shop and start on Fnac. Today you find the web shop at switss.nl, switss.be and switss.fr, with a product finder and guides in plain language.
Our company continues as Pelkonic. We add enclosures with RAID and USB4, prepare our start on Kaufland and work on a new KVM switch with USB-C. We only release it once it is good enough. Every product comes with a 3-year warranty.
In 2027 we plan to sell in Germany as well. What does not change: we choose products you can get working yourself, explain everything without jargon and answer your questions ourselves.
Who we are
By day we both work as engineers: Matthijs in data and AI, Luca on traffic lights. Switss® is our own brand, which we run alongside with a lot of pleasure. That means no call centre and no departments. Ask a question and you get an answer from someone who has connected the product himself.

We only stock products you can connect without technical knowledge. We test every model ourselves on different laptops and computers.

Honest about production
Switss® is a Dutch brand, but we do not manufacture in the Netherlands. We work with a regular, specialised manufacturer. We decide which products we carry, in which finish and with which features.
Every product meets the European CE and RoHS standards. Warranty, returns and service are handled directly by us in the Netherlands.
